Tried and True Savings
• Write a shopping list- Never go into a store without knowing what you need. Then, never be tempted to put anything into the cart that is not on the list.
• Give it Up- Often called the “Latte Factor”, named by David Bach. Give up those extra splurges, at least for a while and reap the savings. Doing this for 21 consecutive days equates into a new, frugal and healthier habit.
• Do it Yourself- wash your own car, do yard work, clean, make your own coffee and or breakfast. Think of what tasks you pay for and try to do them yourself.
• Ask yourself ” Is this a need or a want”? For items that are tempting, wait 10 seconds and ponder this question. It really works.
• Try out the library or sell items not needed on Ebay. For the books you normally buy, try to borrow them from the library. Try the site PaperBackswap.com to clean out your old books and receive books, CDs or DVDs for free-just pay postage.
